When I was in high school my piano teacher (the still very wonderful Randy Kline) turned to me one day during a lesson and said, "Today, you are going to learn to improvise". He gave me three notes and said, "Okay, Go!" I didn't go very far. I found it quite terrifying actually. Years later though, I love it. In fact many of my compositions for piano began as improvisations. Indeed, someday some of these improvisations might take the form of more structured compositions themselves. In the meantime however, here they are for you to listen to, straight from my fingers to your ears.
